Chapters will add indexed video links in blog posts, they'll assign credibility to your website, they seriously enhance SEO, and they will improve upon the YouTube experience (by way of chapters in the video container and a thumbnail chapter menu under your description).
Video chapters are applied in search results pages (as pictured in the first image) by way of a 'Rich Snippet'. Inclusion of the snippet returns relevance and ultimately more views and conversions. The appropriate markup is automatically applied in search results pages if the chapters are assigned to your video (easily created in Yabber), and your website videos will also carry the appropriate makeup to feed Google and other search engines with an understanding of your video.
While what we've what described sounds a little complicated, it's actually seriously simple. That extra few minutes you spend on your video will massively impact on its visibility and engagement.
In terms of a video introducing a simple concept such as LMI, we might create chapters for the introduction, LVR, LMI, costs, capitalisation, providers, and so on. In allowing a user to navigate directly to the information or subject that interests them most you'll retain and convert a much larger audience.
All videos sent to the dedicated video archive on your website will optionally (and almost always) have chapters applied. Colours and styling of the index block on your website is assigned in Yabber.
Bottom line: If you're using video you also need to be using video chapters.
