For a couple of years we've had an open challenge to anybody in the digital space that claims to provide a specialised service to the finance industry. We go head-to-head with a lead-generation campaign using the product that business supplies to the industry. To make things fair we would deliver at least 3X times the volume than the other mob. The loser simply makes a 10k donation to charity.
The other group will have 2 hours to put together a campaign while my daughter will have 20 minutes (she was 6 when we started this challenge). We'll simply look over her shoulder.
We've contacted people directly to see if they'd like to participate and they have obviously declined. Those that came close pulled out when they learned more about us.
The idea isn't to shame anybody (no 'professional' wants to lose to an 8-year-old). Rather, we simply wanted to demonstrate how best practice delivers better results.
We started this challenge because of programs that no longer exist, such as Backpack, Mastery, Magnet, and others... all of which are *far* less effective than even our free 'Funnels' product (we'd normally improve ROI by about 1000% for those mentioned products).
The challenge now extends to lead-generation (pay-per-lead) groups with the exception that my 8-year-old returns the average lead for less than 10% of their fee.
Every business should have the capacity to attract, nurture, and convert leads from anywhere.
