Frederick Schmelz did time in the 1920s and 1930s on numerous charges, including larceny as a bailee, fraudulent conversion and possession of cocaine. Schmelz was a shipping provider who was charged with having cocaine in his possession.He would apparently provide a client with a sample of good quality cocaine and then sell them a package containing Boric powder.
