How to Create RBA Cash Rate Social Media Images

You have a best interest duty requirement imposed upon you that essentially mandates you quickly communicate rate data to your clients - first when the board makes a cash rate decision, and then later when changes are made, or when repricing might be appropriate. Yabber provide a basic facility to create an RBA Cash Rate image very quickly which can be passed to Sendify and sent to social media. This FAQ details how to create the basic RBA images.

  The Result

The results are basic. As mentioned everywhere, generative AI have paused the older-school methods of image creation, and short-term changes to generative AI facilities will make very advanced and accurate image creation very easy via text prompts. That said, let's look at the basic result of both a square and rectangle RBA image. We'll use basic BM branding and include the simplest of rendering.

You'll note that the image is designed to simply supply the date, source, your own details and profile photograph, and - in the case of the rectangle image - a short textual commentary.

Unfortunately, the format is quite old and not overly customisable, so with the impending overlords making systems like this useless we're limited in what we have planned... although this may change.

Locating the RBA Image Factory Panel

You can locate the RBA Image Factory panels by navigating to the 'Image Factory' from the 'Media Factory' module, then selecting 'RBA'. There's two RBA Image Panels: RBA and Legacy, with the former providing multiple image formats.

  Creating the RBA Image

The process of creating the square and rectangle RBA image is essentially the same, so we'll look at the rectangle format since it generally provides a couple of additional options. The rectangle format is generally used for agility and speed, while the square format is a little more engaging and includes more information.

Don't be put off by the number of options. Most fields can be left as the default value, and if you do change anything it's usually the primary brand colour that changes. The 'Default' panel allows you to define your primary brand palette that will continue to be returned in all image panels by default.

The fields and expected values is rather intuitive so we'll refrain from detailing each field. When submitted, the following is returned.

Once created, you may select the 'Social' link to immediately send the image to Sendify where it may be scheduled to multiple social media channels .

  Considerations

Note that the image used in the resulting RBA image is sourced from the 'Profile' photo uploaded to Yabber during setup (this image is used in multiple locations, such as branded books and guides).

It's worth noting that the small basic graph used on the rectangle format is the actual graph of cash rate movements. This data is obtained via the API but can also be returned in a basic image format for overlay onto another image (as we have done).
