The Property Property Streets API, and the Validation Endpoint in particular, is a means to access registered street and registered address location from Yabber via a form input field. The Validation (or Autocomplete) endpoints are useful for searching property on user keystrokes. The validation may be used to ensure pinpoint accuracy is assured by way of assigning a registered and industry-recognised property_id
, and it makes the user process more enjoyable than filling out multiple fields (often with incorrect values).
Property Module: Yabber's Property Module is extensive. The module makes property listing, analytical, and other data available to you, your child users, and partners. A large number of APIs may be used to access data for other applications. Review an introduction to the Property Module here. A commonly referenced FAQ details how to include a Property Listing Widget on your website, and another details how to assign a property to an existing widget location.
Property API Key: The Property API Key is different to your standard 'Personal' API Key and must be accessed through the Property Module (and then saved on your website ). The Property Module is a completely standalone module that integrates directly with Yabber. Validation API: The validation endpoint is part of the Streets API. The page documenting the API includes various API responses and instructions on how to use the feature outside your website.
Not introduced in this FAQ, but an important pathway tool that might even be used on your front page (particularly if you're returning property widgets or property reporting tools), is the search form that will link directly to a page with property-specific information. You will find this simple shortcode in an article titled "Address Autocomplete Form Linking to Dedicated Property Page".
A Basic Example
A simple demonstration of the field is shown below. Start typing an address and suggestions will be returned.
This service is often provided by third-party vendors with a significant cost involved, but it is obviously freely available to all clients. Unlike other services, ours is completely turnkey in that you only have to provide code as shown below (an Elementor drag-and-drop example is shown in a moment so don't get frazzled by the html).
Simple.
Populating Hidden or Visible Fields
You may include hidden or visible text or select fields to any form that will be populated as a user types into the address field. If you're looking for clear location validation you'll want to include hidden form fields (values are submitted with a form), but if you choose to allow your users to modify returned data you may want to visibly format them. Select the "Show Fields" link below to return the (limited) four fields populated when you completed the address above.
In the example shown above, the fields were retuned to our page as standard text input fields as shown below. The fields will populate as the address is selected.
Note the id associated with each field. It is this id="something" text that identifies itself to the JavaScript code and allows the field to be populated. A trigger assigned in the code will populate most select menu fields. Available id types are as follows (you could, if you like, create a field for each of the them).
Available field response id types includes the following:
- flat_number
- number_first
- number_last
- lot_number
- street_name_full
- state
- postcode
- street_type
- locality_name
- locality_name_slug
- address_details_pid
- latitude
- longitude
It's the address_details_pid
field that matches against a fixed BM record so it should generally be included as a hidden field.
Using the Address Field with Elementor
Manually creating a field is something you will very rarely (if ever) do. Those forms that we provide include the feature by default, although if you choose to build a form with Elementor you may implement the same functionality (remembering that Elementor forms will submit to Yabber like any other).
When creating an Elementor form, create a standard text field and give it a label as you normally would, such as 'Address'. To the right of the standard field panel you'll see an option called 'Advanced'. Select this option and you may now assign the ID as bm_address
(we used the underscore in our ID against standard company convention to comply with the limitation applied when performing this task - Elementor will not permit hyphens).

The field will now function as a native form field and send the suggestions to the DIV container in the newly created HTML block.
As an alternative to the above, you may include a form field as HTML within the HTML form field block (meaning that you'll simply copy the entirety of the HTML provided earlier into the HTML form field).
