Change Your Facebook Banner and Profile Image Based on Trending or Resolved Website Traffic

You want those marketing assets on the periphery to property represent your brand, but you also want them to be consistent with your trending website traffic or consumer sentiment. For example, with the introduction of a FHB or Investor incentive of some kind you will likely want your broader marketing footprint to reflect this, or direct consumer attention to your expertise in this area. The problem is that you'll probably never bother with what we've just described. A business will rarely update their Facebook or YouTube pages for a number of reasons, of which time is probably top of the list.

The Facebook feature described in this FAQ will automatically alter your Facebook banner and profile image based on the trending interest resolved by your website traffic, the big-picture trends identified by Yabber, or by BM before the system has time to identify the change.

Conditional YouTube Branding: Yabber's YouTube module includes a very significant module for defining interest profiles. You will find more in an FAQ titled "Change Your YouTube Presentation Based on Trending or Resolved Website Traffic".

Conditional Marketing: Facilities to alter assets such as Facebook, YouTube, and other external resources is something many of your competitors didn't even know was possible. You have a massive advantage. We urge you to take full advantage of all systems in order to support a true marketing funnel experience.".

Seasonal Facebook Banners: You may also change the Facebook Profile image and Banner based on defined Seasons or schedules. You will find more in an FAQ titled "How to Schedule Seasonal (Automated) Facebook Banner and Profile Image Changes".

Manually Change Facebook Assets: You may alter your Facebook Profile and/or Banner image at any time manually in Yabber. Review the FAQ titled "How to Change Your Facebook Page Profile Image and Banner in Yabber".

You will find the Facebook (Conditional) Automation from within the Facebook Marketing module (not the Facebook social module). Select 'FB' in the primary menu and then select 'Automation' from the returned submenu.

Facebook Conditional Navigation

Pictured: You will find the Facebook (Conditional) Automation from within the Facebook Marketing module (not the Facebook social module). Select 'FB' in the primary menu and then select 'Automation' from the returned submenu.

Note that this is an advanced module, as are most conditional features. The feature requires a basic understanding of interest types and our conditional methodologies.

  Creating a Default Profile

A default profile, or a profile that will normally apply, is required so BeNet has a profile in which to revert after any change, or when the 'certainty' of any applied profile decrease below your defined threshold.

Facebook Conditional Default

Pictured: A default profile, or a profile that will normally apply, is required so BeNet has a profile in which to revert after any change, or when the 'certainty' of any applied profile decrease below your defined threshold.

A change may apply even if a default doesn't exist but it won't change back.

  Creating an Automation Profile

We'll go ahead and create the automation profile for a test page. The first step is to select a page and interest type from the 'Manage Profile' panel. In our case, we will assign a FHB profile to our 1300Belief test page.

Facebook Conditional Page Interest

Pictured: We'll go ahead and create the automation profile for a test page. The first step is to select a page and interest type from the 'Manage Profile' panel. In our case, we will assign a FHB profile to our 1300Belief test page.

Submitting this returns various page options. We should select a page banner and profile image. The 'Probable Certainty' is a score assigned to the interest. What level of certainty do you want before the change is applied to Facebook?

Facebook Conditional Build Profile

Pictured: Submitting this returns various page options. We should select a page banner and profile image. The 'Probable Certainty' is a score assigned to the interest. What level of certainty do you want before the change is applied to Facebook?

Click 'Save'.

As long as the profile is active, the evaluation of your resolved trending interest will now apply, and the profile will send when Yabber determines that your website traffic or the general consumer sentiment, dictates the change would better represent your brand.

You should define conditional profiles for the big-ticket services you provide, such as First Home Buyers, Investors, Refinancing, and your other areas of expertise. There is no limit to the number of interests that may be registered to Yabber, and no limit to the number of profiles you may define.

Note that only a single change is normally made in a 24-hour period, although extreme trends will force a change, and we can force global changes on our end before BeNet has time to resolve interest via traffic.

  Editing and Reviewing Profile Data

You may review your Conditional and Default profiles via the 'Review' tab. Select any 'Edit' icon to edit the applicable profile, or select the green icon to return profile information.

Facebook Conditional Profile Review

Pictured: You may review your Conditional and Default profiles via the 'Review' tab. Select any 'Edit' icon to edit the applicable profile, or select the green icon to return profile information. Select the 'Delete' icon to permanently remove a record.

Selecting a profile to 'Inactive' will not unsend a profile, but it will stop that profile from sending again. In the pictured example we've only set a single profile for a single test page - it's expected that you will define defaults for all your pages.

Social representation imposes a compliance obligation so all changes are recorded in full.

We've shared FAQs that showed you how to create Wistia video customisations, sharing profiles, turnstiles, and postroll CTA profiles (all linked below). This FAQ will show you how to update an individual video or all videos that are part of a project.

  About Wistia

Wistia is a third-party service that provides videos hosting for a monthly subscription. It is quite costly, but the platform does provide for three free videos and we encourage all our users to sign up for this offer.

Wistia provides a large number of integrated video features that enable far greater insights into video performance when compared to platforms such as YouTube, and the level of statistical data returned for each user is significant.

Yabber integrates with Wistia in such a way that we effectively emulate most features of that service. This tight level of connectivity enables features such as the email collection turnstiles (or email capture form 'gates' within a video) to be used for engagement and not just consumption.

This FAQ should be read in company with those listed below since when you're updating a video you'll generally update all of the profiles shown at the same time.

Wistia features may be referenced under this article in the 'Related FAQ' section.

Wistia Source - Yabber/Wistia or Elementor

In a previous FAQ we detailed how to apply customisations to an embedded Wistia Video. In order for Yabber and/or Wistia options to override the values defined in Elementor, you should navigate your way to the 'Settings' panel and define your preferred source via the 'Website' option.

If the source is set to 'Elementor', all Yabber and Wistia options are ignored, and if set to Yabber, all Elementor options are ignored.
